“The Village House is designed and conceptualised as an oasis of calm and serenity for its residents. Situated on the foothills of the legendary Mount Santubong, an area of great bio-diversity in the part of the world that host 15,000 plant species, more than 1,400 amphibians, birds, fish, mammals, reptiles and insect. Santubong has attracted numerous researchers including famed British naturalist Alfred Russel Wallace who wrote his important 'Sarawak Law Paper 1855' here. This area continues to be a haven for nature lovers and adventurers. Famed also as the first capital of the Kingdom of Sarawak, Santubong remains a quaint Malay Village today where guests can potter around and engage with the friendly local residents and recapture a sense of nostalgia and romance. The Village House accentuates all of the charms of Santubong through its lush tropical garden spaces complete with water features and artefacts collected from the many local ethnic groups adorning the common spaces exuding an exotic Bornean style.
